Dr. Balram Persaud-Budhu

Dr. Balram Persaud-Budhu (Balram Ātmanayana Rishi) is the founder of the Vilayam institutional ecosystem and the originator of the Vilayam Tradition — an integrated humanitarian science of consciousness developed through sustained observational, contemplative, and applied research.

His work brings together the study of consciousness, human development, and humanitarian practice within a single interdisciplinary framework, and is expressed institutionally through Kailash Yaatra Ashram, the sacred dhāms, the Vilayam Institute for Consciousness and Humanitarian Science, and Vilayam Academy.

As Director of Research he leads the formulation of the tradition's foundational treatises, research methodologies, educational programmes, and constitutional documents, and oversees their publication through the Vilayam Publications Repository.
